Mepron medication is used for the treatment and prevention of PCP pneumonia, especially for patients who are unresponsive to other treatments such as trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole. While the mechanism of how this medicine works is still unknown, doctors believe it interferes with the metabolism of protozoa and slowly stop their growth. This can stop or prevent the pneumonia. Mepron can also be prescribed for the treatment of other conditions not mentioned here that a doctor sees fit.
