Levbid is a medicine used in the treatment of spasmodic problems, such as that which occurs in the gastrointestinal tract and the bladder. It may also be used in treating the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and as an augmenting induction agent for general anaesthesia. The active ingredient of the medicine, hyoscyamine, is used because it blocks the effects of acetylcholine at its destination receptors. Levbid may also be used for indications not listed in this guide, at the discretion of the prescriber.

Levbid, as with any other medicine, does not follow any fixed dose. There are, of course, recommended dosage regimens, but these regimens have exceptions. Patients may present with complicating factors such as age, co-administration of other medicines, and the presence of disease. Dosage may change at the discretion of the prescriber. - 0.125 to 0.25mg to be taken orally or sublingually every 12 hours. No more than 12 tablets should be taken within a 24 hour period.
- 5 mcg/kg to be administered approximately 30-60 minutes prior to induction of anaesthesia.

As an anticholinergic drug, Levbid has the typical side effects associated with this particular class.
