Edecrin is used in treating swelling that comes as a result of liver problems, congestive heart failure and kidney problems. It can also be used in other illnesses that the doctor can determine. It is a loop diuretic medication. It functions by making the kidneys able to eliminate high quantities of electrolytes, especially potassium and sodium salts.

It treats most of the conditions where water and salt retention is an issue. You should, therefore, not use this drug if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. You should also not use it if you are not able to urinate. Those using aminoglycoside antibiotics should also not use it.
